It's been a few months that Mr. Ganji got very popular among people, mostly students. There are things that are happening in our country that we have to pay more attention to these events and try not to act in favor of those who wish to occupy our country and rule over... I was reading Ganji's letter and he mentioned that he was put to prison for 2000 days and I wondered "Gee it's almost around the time that 9/11 happened!" Here's a crazy thought I have about this whole thing... As you know there were always political prisoners in our country, but no one had ever got this popular among people especially among youngsters. In fact, not even those who were imprisoned with Mr. Ganji! I wonder what the real story behind his popularity is and who supports him to act this way?!... Americans occupied both Afghanistan and Iraq and it was definitely not because they wanted them to have democracy. If you think about it they have virtually surrounded Iran. Nonetheless, they had to have a back up plan to prepare Iranian civilians and have their assistance as well. I know this sounds a bit crazy but I think it went in favor of their plans so far. I always thought Iranians are smarter than Americans and they’ll question the political issues and pay more attention to the crisis around the world.
I also wanted to add a point about the rally that Ganji’s supporters had in front of the Tehran University. I don’t know how many of you are aware of international law about any sort of rallies, but as far as I know even in United States they have to have permission from government (ejazeye vezarate keshvar) to have that kind of public meeting. Anyways, you added some good links at the end and your article was great!
